About The Position

The Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and evaluating integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. This includes managing human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The role involves developing and maintaining systems related to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, and other industry standards, as well as supporting plant quality and continuous improvement programs like Six Sigma and SPC. The engineer will work with various departments to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions, conduct audits, and perform quality investigations to reduce scrap and rework.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or Material Science.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
  • Ability to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record.
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of blueprints and airfoil specifications.
  • Working knowledge of nondestructive testing methods.
  • 1-3 years aerospace or IGT quality experience preferred.
  • Experience which combines both customer contact and technical discipline will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems relating to ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and other similar industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain Quality systems with the customer and manufacturing organization to ensure delivery of quality products.
  • Manage internal and supplier audits, as required by the customer and the Company’s Quality Management System.
  • Provide support of plant quality and continuous improvement programs, including Six Sigma, SPC, and various customer driven programs.
  • Work with engineering, operations and other company functions to identify root causes and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Perform audits to monitor product quality/ISO requirements and support manufacturing/inspection training activity as needed.
  • Conduct quality investigations as required to identify and eliminate scrap/rework causes and customer issues.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Perform any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
