About The Position

This internship position supports the Quality department in daily quality assurance and continuous improvement activities. The intern will assist with the development, revision, and standardization of Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and visual aids. They will also support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, process flow diagrams, and related quality documentation. Additionally, the role involves assisting with internal quality audits, audit preparation, corrective action follow-up, and audit documentation. The intern will participate in quality improvement projects focused on process standardization, waste reduction, defect prevention, and operational efficiency. They will also assist with quality data collection, documentation, and preparation of reports, metrics, and performance dashboards. Support for calibration activities, equipment records, and quality system compliance is also part of the role. The intern will assist with inspection method development, quality standards, and customer specification reviews, and support the development of standardized work instructions, visual standards, and process documentation for manufacturing operations. Collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement corrective actions is expected. The intern will participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies, maintain project documentation, and communicate project progress to Quality Management. Ensuring all assigned activities are performed in accordance with company safety, environmental, and quality requirements is crucial. Other duties and project assignments may be directed by Quality Management.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Power BI, Minitab, GageTrak, or similar engineering/quality software is a plus.
