About The Position

The Quality Supplier Technician is responsible for conducting on-site and remote supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual, engineering, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Supplier Technician will review and approve supplier documentation, incoming inspections, qualifications processes, maintain accurate quality documentation, and provide performance reports to leadership.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field
  • 5–7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality, or Production
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Proven experience working directly with external suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Strong background in supplier audits, quality management, and corrective action processes
  • Experience supporting incoming inspection, supplier development, and risk mitigation efforts
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, and bonded structures
  • Familiarity with non-destructive inspection (NDI/NDT) methods for composites (ultrasonic, visual, tap testing, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and inspection accuracy
  • Ability to make independent quality decisions in a fast-paced sustainment environment
  • Strong communication skills for clearly documenting and escalating issues

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site and remote supplier audits to ensure compliance with contractual, engineering, and quality system requirements (ISO/AS standards).
  • Assess supplier capabilities and identify risks.
  • Initiate, track, and close Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Work closely with suppliers to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, inspection records, certifications, and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify that incoming materials and components meet specifications. Coordinate with internal QA and production teams on acceptance, rejection, or containment actions.
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and responsiveness. Partner with suppliers to improve performance and reduce defects.
  • Validate that supplier processes for structural, mechanical, and composite components meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to resolve supplier-related quality issues and support new product introductions or changes.
  • Evaluate new and existing suppliers for quality risk, capability, and capacity. Support supplier selection and approval processes.
  • Document supplier performance, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on supplier quality trends and risks.
