About The Position

The Quality Supervisor must work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment that involves ongoing problem solving and quick decision making. They will be responsible for analyzing root causes of quality issues and seeking resolutions while upholding manufacturing and R&D Quality standards. The Quality Supervisor will also be responsible for leading and directing Quality Technicians, promoting a culture of best practices that result in meeting and/or exceeding organizational quality objectives. They must be able to clearly communicate business goals and create an understanding of how their team contributes to the organization’s success. May require irregular hours depending on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Management, Business or similar field preferred, but related work experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Must have a minimum of 1-3 years Quality Assurance experience; experience to include: Quality Defect Data, PFMEA’s; Control Plans; Work Instructions; Process flow diagrams; Capability studies/ SPC Techniques; 8D Problem Solving Process; Gage R&R’s; Process Mapping; DOE studies; CMM experience
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have excellent computer skills (such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must complete all OSHA required training

Nice To Haves

  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Experience with AQP/ APQP/ PPAP
  • Experience with ISO 9001/ QS 9000 quality systems
  • Injection molding experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages hourly direct reports and assigned departmental processes within established priorities
  • Performs internal audit functions of processes and systems, tracing root cause of problems to their origin and formulates a corrective action plan for process improvement
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and consistency of process control tools/techniques across the manufacturing plant to improve the cost of failure (COF)
  • Track metrics for cost of failure (COF)
  • Extensive short-term planning based on established and changing priorities
  • Monitor daily quality results, attend regular Quality and Production meetings
  • Implement training programs for new and current quality associates at all levels
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, specifications, and cost reductions efforts
  • Formulate or assist in formulating quality control policies and procedures
  • Responsible for following all OSHA, Ohio EPA, company and department safety rules and procedures
