Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in machined parts inspection.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed information on part prints(Blueprints) and customer specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent and active presence on the shop floor, spending approximately 2/3 of the shift overseeing operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with shop employees, office staff, supervisors, managers, and executives.
  • Able to adjust to changing priorities and unexpected challenges while maintaining productivity and focus.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work well with others and foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, with a demonstrated ability to promote and enforce safety standards and practices.
  • Proficiency in performance management processes, including creating plans of action and conducting employee evaluations.
  • Highly detail-oriented, ensuring quality and precision in all tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively throughout the shift.
  • Average math skills, with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and complete logs, documents, and reports accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • CMM Machine experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: Ability to read and understand detailed information on part prints(Blueprints) and customer specifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with timekeeping and performance management procedures.
  • Oversee employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team development and productivity.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, as well as provide ongoing education and skill development for the team.
  • Prioritize inspection activities through the department to meet Martin and/or customer quality standards and expectations.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure smooth workflow, adherence to standards and specifications and effectively communicate back to manufacturing when standards are not met.
  • Ensure the team maintains tools and equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner, addressing safety concerns promptly.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Address and resolve production or personnel issues promptly to avoid disruptions to operations.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
