About The Position

Provides daily supervision of employees engaged in the manufacturing of Sparton products within a high‑volume defense manufacturing environment. Ensures consistent compliance with all processes and procedures required to produce high‑quality products. Coordinates activities within the Quality Inspection department and performs a variety of technical and analytical functions—ranging from simple to complex—in support of Quality Control and Quality Engineering. Serves as the primary interface with customers, Quality Assurance representatives, and quality system auditors. Champions continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality or equivalent years of experience, with a minimum three years' experience in CCA QC related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • 2 years’ experience leading continuous improvement efforts with measurable results and internal auditing experience
  • 1 – 3 years of electronic assembly and soldering
  • Working knowledge of latest revision of AS9100C/ISO 9001 standard.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Possesses strong leadership, coaching; mentoring experience for leading a quality inspection team.
  • US Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises a team of quality control inspectors responsible for incoming, in-process, source and final inspection.
  • Promotes teamwork between quality assurance, operations, engineering, and other staff functions to ensure quality concepts are correctly applied and in compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Develops and maintains all QMS systems including AS9100D and any additional customer requirements.
  • Interfaces with customer quality assurance representatives, internal/external quality system auditors, and internal functions requiring Quality support, as the Quality Management Representative.
  • Maintains the appropriate quality manual, which includes the initiation, review, and revision of Work Instructions and SOPs.
  • Assists engineering with APQP, FMEA, DFM, etc. to assure customer requirements are exceeded at the best cost material and process.
  • Generates and submits quality documentation including First Article Inspections per AS9102.
  • Reviews engineering drawings and verifies drawings meet quality requirements.
  • Performs audits to ensure consistent and continued compliance with all processes and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains accurate and complete records for the corrective and preventive action program, the nonconformance program, supplier corrective action program and calibration program.
  • Provides recommendations for quality enhancements and cost reductions, formulates cost impacts, leads Agile implementation, and leads quality improvements.
  • Leads the Material Review Board, recommends dispositions for nonconforming product and action to manage suppliers who do not meet Aydin standards for quality product.
  • Ensures supplier documentation meets engineering specifications, quality notes, and internal procedures.
  • Supervises and coordinates all configuration control functions, which will result in the timely processing, recording and distribution of all bills of material, engineering changes, temporary deviations, stop orders, manufacturing changes, and work instructions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Encourages, participates, and leads in continuous improvement activities such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • All other duties as assigned.
