Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or issues
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, QA systems)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred
  • Prior leadership or lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily quality assurance activities to ensure products meet food safety, regulatory, and company quality standards.
  • Supervise QA technicians and support inspection, testing, auditing, and documentation processes to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
  • Oversee daily quality checks, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standards.
  • Review and verify accuracy of quality documentation and records.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Support product holds, releases, and disposition decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, AIB, and BRCGS standards.
  • Support internal audits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist in mock recalls and traceability exercises.
  • Identify, document, and escalate quality or food safety issues.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints and quality deviations.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Partner with production and sanitation teams to resolve issues.
  • Track and document quality trends and recurring problems.
  • Supervise QA technicians and/or lab personnel.
  • Provide training on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping.
  • Provide input on performance management and development.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of quality systems and procedures.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and sampling programs.
  • Help maintain approved supplier/vendor documentation as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality and process control.
