About The Position

The Quality Specialist is primarily responsible to ensure that the quality of the products produced at CGT meet all customer expectations and requirements by conducting and facilitating improvements, such as: implementation of effective corrective actions and conducting internal audits.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education with post secondary education in Quality Assurance.
  • Internal Auditor certification or experience is a must.
  • Ideally have 3 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, ideally with products related to interiors.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 QMS.
  • Knowledge of CI, Six Sigma, 8D and other problem solving methodologies

  • Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and articulately with all forms of communication (in-person, email, etc.).

  • Presentation skills: Comfortable leading meetings with both internal and external parties as well as presenting proposals, reports, data to groups on various topics.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom
  • Must possess a valid, up-to-date passport and the ability to freely cross international borders.
  • Must have a valid G2 driver’s licence.

  • ASQ CQT or CQE designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take quick and effective actions when non-conformances are reported both internally and externally.
  • Assist in promoting quality throughout the organization by ensuring that the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements are in compliance.
  • Provide field support, as required, and conduct return material analysis to assess the root cause of customer complaints and/or quality issues, and give direction on appropriate corrective action implementation and reporting.
  • Facilitate the disposition of raw material on ‘HOLD’, in cooperation with the appropriate internal and external teams as necessary (PDS, Operations, Materials Management, etc.) to help maintain inventory integrity.
  • Provide internal manufacturing support for the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports as a communication tool for Quality performance to management.
  • Provide support as needed to Supplier Quality in cooperation with Operations to resolve raw material issues.
  • Coordinate activities related to any containment of suspect material while ensuing an adequate supply of acceptable material to support the customer.
  • Initiate corrective action reports for customer issues and work with CGT Operations and other teams to find and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal process manufacturing audits.
  • Participate in advanced quality planning (APQP), failure mode analyses (FMEA) at all necessary pre-production Quality planning activities.
  • Interface with both customers and suppliers on Quality related issues. Act as the lead for all problem-solving activities for a specific customer base.
  • Prepare all communication with respect to any Quality Alerts and ensure distribution to appropriate parties, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure corrective actions are appropriately documented, implemented, effective and have timely closure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
