The Quality Specialist ensures adherence to quality systems, laboratory procedures, and regulatory requirements within a quality laboratory environment. This role leads internal audit activities, supports analytical testing operations, and drives corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The position serves as a key technical resource across quality, operations, R&D, and customer-facing functions to maintain compliance and product integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory analytical operations or quality laboratory environments.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, audits, documentation control, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to support cross-functional collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading internal ISO or similar quality system audits.
  • Proficiency with quality and documentation systems such as IFS, Qualtrax, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting customer audits, regulatory compliance, or certification requirements (e.g., NSF).
  • Background working in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal quality audit programs by scheduling audits, training auditors, ensuring compliance, and driving timely corrective action closure.
  • Manage quality laboratory workflows, including execution of analytical testing, equipment calibration, maintenance, and finished goods release.
  • Serve as the technical quality representative during customer, certification body, and regulatory audits and inquiries.
  • Maintain and administer quality systems, documentation, and records using tools such as IFS and Qualtrax; author and update procedures and work instructions.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support investigations, customer complaints, inventory optimization, new product support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
