About The Position

Henkels & McCoy West is seeking a Quality Specialist to join their team in the Auburn, CA area. This role is part of the company’s Quality Assurance and Control program, focusing on inspecting completed power construction projects, reviewing and editing inspection checklists, instructing on adherence to customer standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction with H&M Quality Programs and Construction Controls. The ideal candidate will have a construction and QA/QC background, be adept at inspecting and evaluating work performed by field crews and processes for compliance with specifications and standards, and possess strong problem-solving skills through effective communication. This role involves explaining the benefits of "First Time Quality" and interacting with geographically dispersed teams throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Electrical Power Lineman or construction experience
  • Visio, digital imaging, CAD drawing and/or ability to review technical drawings
  • Track and record KPI data to monitor program effectiveness
  • Computer skills - MS Office applications
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
  • BS/BA Degree preferred in Construction Management and/or related field or equivalent work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management, Safety, Quality work experience/certifications
  • Bidding, Estimating, and Contracting work experience
  • In depth knowledge of Quality System (ISO etc.)
  • Experience presenting to or training adults on technical concepts

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Quality manager, West Region Leaders, and partner with H&M lines of business (Power, Underground, Telecom) management and craft employees.
  • Be a catalyst in promoting Quality Management Systems.
  • Build and enhance quality management systems focused on customer satisfaction, business process standardization, reliability and effectiveness.
  • Teach, practice, develop & improve the company Quality focus.
  • Develop Quality Checklists which achieve organizational goals.
  • Build Quality plans with Plan, Do, Check, Act elements and A3 Thinking that meet customer requirements in support of the H&M PMM system.
  • Report improvement projects status to plans at regular intervals.
  • Help to develop, roll-out, and administer a Quality initiatives and facilitate training on programs and technology related to Quality.
  • Promote the Quality innovation success stories and results achieved across the region.
