About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Specialist to support New Product Introduction (NPI), production quality, and advanced metrology activities within a precision manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in developing and executing inspection strategies, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) programming, conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), and ensuring compliance with engineering and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in CMM programming (Calypso) and GD&T interpretation; have the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively to ensure timely inspection flow and accurate data collection and reporting.

Requirements

  • CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Zeiss CALYPSO programming and CMM operation.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Experience with manual inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, and surface plates.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot measurement and inspection issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product launch activities.
  • Experience with Vision Systems or OGP measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of machining processes and precision-machined components.
  • Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, or related quality systems.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience.
  • MRB, nonconformance, and corrective action experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, validate, and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss CALYPSO metrology software.
  • Perform CMM setup, program prove-out, fixture validation, and measurement system verification.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements to develop effective inspection methods.
  • Perform advanced dimensional analysis including profile, position, concentricity, and datum-related measurements.
  • Review inspection results, identify nonconforming conditions, and assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Generate detailed measurement reports and maintain inspection documentation.
  • Collaborate with machinists, manufacturing personnel, and engineers to improve product quality and process efficiency.
  • Perform calibration, validation, and routine maintenance activities on metrology equipment.
