The Quality Specialist will manage the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process and be fully imbedded within the manufacturing process to actively assist in providing resolution, containment, and improvement to nonconforming materials. This role involves reviewing Manufacturing Work Instructions, providing feedback, and supporting inspectors with clarification or go/no-go decisions. The specialist will lead and own the execution of containment of nonconforming items, including inspecting to verify non-conforming parts, and assist in root cause analysis. The position also includes managing internal triage with engineering teams to support nonconformance dispositions and ensure investigative tasks are completed in a timely manner. Accurate data collection and entry for the MRB process are crucial, as is communicating process performance and quality issues to key stakeholders to drive improvements. The role requires tracking and reporting MRB metrics weekly, executing vendor return material authorization (RMA) in partnership with Warehouse and Buyers, and managing the quality containment process for material, tooling, and inspection equipment impacting production capacity and capability. Additionally, the specialist will create inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspection, train technicians and inspectors, and propose, develop, and implement quality assurance policies and procedures. Performing internal audits, conducting deep dives into data and traceability investigations, and staying current with new inspection technologies and techniques are also key responsibilities.
