About The Position

Det-Tronics is seeking a Quality Service Center Technician to perform test/calibration duties and provide technical support to Production Engineering in the creation and assembly of electronic test fixtures. This role also involves supporting other production departments as needed, demonstrating the ability to collect data, identify root causes of failures, and perform data analysis using statistical and graphical methods in Microsoft Excel. The technician will work independently to develop corrective actions and create/edit production processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Electronics Technologies or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with the test, calibration and/or repair of electronic assemblies or devices.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis using graphical and Statistical methods.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly prints, and technical procedures.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs) to the component level.
  • Willingness to support and/or lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department or alongside manufacturing engineering.
  • Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities through data collection and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other analytical software tools.
  • Experience designing and executing experiments with clear, documented results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using email and web-based training tools for communication and development.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and present data through statistical and graphical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing, calibration, and repair of assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Train others to perform testing and calibration duties.
  • Verify that assemblies and sub-assemblies are tested and calibrated to the latest engineering specifications using current revision test procedures, schematics, and assembly prints.
  • Create or edit technical processes to assist with testing and troubleshooting of various technical devices.
  • Repair defective assemblies or sub-assemblies down to the component level, ensuring rework complies with current quality standards.
  • Accurately generate and maintain data of repaired assemblies and sub-assemblies to improve assembly and repair processes and product quality.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities, root causes, and verify corrective actions for PCB, assembly, or product failures.
  • Conduct experimentation to identify or test corrective actions for subassembly or product failures.
  • Use ACE tools to identify root causes of repetitive or time-consuming failures and measure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Perform the loading and monitoring of product run-in areas.
  • Assist Production Engineering with the design, assembly, and repair of new and existing test fixtures.
  • Identify and specify fixtures that can improve troubleshooting capability and work with Manufacturing Test Engineer to design and build such fixtures.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of new and existing test procedures.
  • Maintain all department procedures in the LOS (Lean Office System) database.
  • Provide technical support to other areas to help meet production and shipment schedules.
  • Proactively ensure all production lines in assigned areas are running without problems with test equipment or first pass failures.
  • Assist manufacturing engineering with the execution of experiments using analytical software (Excel, Minitab).
  • Design, execute, and analyze basic experiments and document the results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
