About The Position

The Solar business specifically manufactures hyper-pure polysilicon, high-quality solar wafers, and innovative photovoltaic modules, contributing to critical U.S. supply chains and serving growing energy demand. This role is crucial for advancing these supply chains and ensuring unmatched quality and reliability for customers. The Production Quality Supervisor will oversee and manage the quality team on the production floor. This role is critical in ensuring all production processes and outputs meet the highest quality standards, adhere to regulatory requirements, and align with company objectives. The position demands strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a quality assurance/control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment (solar manufacturing experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience managing teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with the daily workflow of the quality department

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience working in the solar energy industry, particularly with solar modules or photovoltaic systems.
  • Familiarity with solar module manufacturing processes, performance testing, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of U.S. energy regulations and compliance requirements for solar technologies.
  • Certifications in solar energy technologies or project management (e.g., NABCEP, PMP).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of Quality Coordinators and Specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the quality team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, expectations, and address concerns.
  • Oversee quality control checks and inspections on the production floor to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor production processes and workflows to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality discrepancies.
  • Implement strategies with market price trends to minimize risks of obsolescence and overstocking.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, certifications, and regulations (e.g., ISO, OSHA, environmental standards).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assessments, audits, and compliance reports.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors during quality inspections.
  • Regularly report quality metrics, issues, and progress to senior management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for quality-related concerns from the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align quality objectives with production goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
