About The Position

The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. The Rehabilitative and Enterprise Division ensures the physical and mental well-being of inmates, delivers educational and vocational opportunities within prisons, and oversees community facilities dedicated to successfully reintegrating offenders into Montana communities. Also, this division delivers trauma-informed support to victims of offenders in the correctional system. The Contract Compliance Section Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective community correction programs. This role involves managing contracts, supervising staff, and supporting the development of programs that contribute to successful offender reintegration and public safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in business or a related field.
  • Three years work-related experience.
  • Two years experience in management or a supervisory position.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract activities for assigned community corrections contracted facilities.
  • Conduct assessments of contract compliance, review and approve/deny contractor requests, and offer technical assistance in alignment with FPB contract terms and offender management needs.
  • Directly supervise Bureau contract management staff, including training, workload management, and personnel-related processes.
  • Ensure staff development and effectiveness in contract management activities.
  • Oversee contract management activities carried out by staff, covering DOC's community corrections facilities and ETSS services.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to identify process enhancements and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Assist the Bureau Chief in developing and executing contracts.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and refinement of programs, procedures, and processes related to adult offender community corrections.
  • Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting for Bureau programs.
  • Provide insights to enhance program efficiency and outcomes.
  • Review offender case information to determine suitable placements that balance offender needs, public safety, and victim input.
  • Represent the Bureau on DOC-wide workgroups as directed by the Bureau Chief.
  • Contribute to collaborative efforts across the department.
  • Assist with tasks related to the state's Legislative session, including reviewing bills and fiscal notes and monitoring relevant developments.
  • Act as the Bureau Chief's designee as required.
