About The Position

The position of Quality/Safety Tech will be working closely with the Plant Quality/Safety Manager to ensure on-time production and delivery of products in the safest manner.   • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, ISO, Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of OSHA or Safety related field.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times, be aware of surroundings and understand and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers responsible for safety related items.
  • Participate in Plant Safety Committee.
  • Follow at all times GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes)
  • Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies.
  • Stop bad quality from leaving the facility to the Customer.
  • Catch bad quality on the front end of manufacturing the product.
  • Prevent bad quality being sent to customer.
  • Be very involved in the complaint process for internal and external customers; entering, tracking, receiving complaint issues and resolutions to complaints or root cause analysis.
  • Perform process audits.
  • Data entry.
  • Manage and control documents (safety, training and quality).
  • Control non-conforming supplier defects and returns.
  • Manage sorting and reworks.
  • Manage weekly KPI's and/or compliances with CAR (corrective action reports).
  • Be responsible for PAR (Preventive Acton Reports).
