About The Position

This position provides professional support for clinical operations, quality improvement, and program management activities. Functions include independently coordinating and implementing quality and performance improvement initiatives; supporting clinical programs and service delivery; monitoring and analyzing operational, quality, and patient care metrics; facilitating regulatory and accreditation compliance; developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and workflows; managing program implementation and evaluation; supporting clinical teams in achieving organizational goals; and coordinating training, communication, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance patient care, safety, efficiency, and outcomes. Positions may also serve as liaisons among clinical, administrative, academic, and community partners to advance strategic priorities and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two (2) years of experience leading quality improvement and/or program implementation projects in health care settings.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and program implementation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of health care systems and medical terminology.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to represent the University in a professional and positive manner.

  • Knowledge of institutional and governmental research administration policies and procedures and ability to strictly follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficient use of computers and relevant software and database applications, including REDCap, OnCore, Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to master new software programs.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health-related field.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems such as RedCap and/or Atlas.ti).
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and support the day-to-day operations of quality improvement and program implementation initiatives.
  • Adhere to clinical practice standards, evidence-based practice, and established policies and procedures.
  • Assist Team Leads, Supervisors, and/or management with creation and implementation of processes and procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a project manager on multiple quality improvement/program implementation initiatives or grant-funded initiatives.
  • Assist and train junior team members.
  • Assist with identifying issues related to operational efficiency and share results with leadership.
  • Support the Quality and Safety Program Administrator to coordinate quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and report clinical, operational, and quality performance data.
  • Monitor, in collaboration with the leadership team, organizational quality metrics, benchmarks, and key performance indicators.
  • Support program planning, implementation, evaluation, continuous improvement, and project implementation activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop, revise, and implement policies, procedures, and standard operating workflows.
  • Coordinate regulatory, accreditation, and compliance activities, including audit preparation and follow-up.
  • Facilitate quality, safety, and program management committees and workgroups.
  • Conduct chart reviews, workflow assessments, and process improvement analyses.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations for leadership, governing boards, and external stakeholders.
  • Support strategic planning, project management, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Coordinate staff education, training, and competency-related activities to support quality and operational goals and grant deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, academic, and community partners to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Support population health, patient experience, risk management, and care coordination initiatives.
  • Contribute to reporting requirements as applicable.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes to ensure achievement of organizational objectives.
