This role involves supporting commissioning agents, ensuring adherence to standards, analyzing quality metrics, acting as a gating authority, managing commissioning issue logs, mitigating risks, aligning contractors, and collaborating with project teams. The position also includes training third-party personnel on quality and commissioning programs, managing commissioning platforms, and driving continuous improvement in processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related engineering/technical field. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in commissioning, reliability, or mission-critical facilities delivery (data centers or similarly complex MEP environments).
  • Experience supporting Level 4 functional testing and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including readiness tracking, witnessing tests, and documenting/validating results.
  • Experience supporting issue management and closeout (Cx log), coordinating corrective actions across trades/vendors, and contributing to turnover package completeness.
  • Knowledge of mission-critical electrical/mechanical systems and controls, including acceptance criteria, SOO verification, and integrated test concepts.
  • Ability to interpret one-lines, P&IDs, sequences/control narratives, and testing documentation (plans, scripts, checklists, turnover packages).
  • Working familiarity with BAS/controls and EPMS/SCADA trending for functional verification and troubleshooting support.
  • Experience with commissioning management platforms (Cx Alloy or equivalent) and proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Minimum 3-6 years experience creating documents used in creating standards for building, testing, repairs, troubleshooting, and training for data centers or other critical environments.
  • Fluent in technical and common office software.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Ability to check all technical skills for consistency and accuracy.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to effectively respond, verbally or written, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from various levels of management and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Support coordination with third-party Commissioning Agents on assigned projects, including review of deliverables and witnessing testing.
  • Assist with the development, review, and implementation of project-specific commissioning plans.
  • Perform spot checks of field testing and documentation to ensure adherence to the Sequence of Operations (SOO).
  • Analyze metrics and leading indicators of Critical and High issues during various inspection checklists.
  • Support formal gating of systems between commissioning levels by confirming prerequisites, documentation, and readiness.
  • Escalate issues when quality of installation or documentation does not meet the Reliability Standard.
  • Manage the master Commissioning Issue Log (Cx Log) for assigned projects, categorizing issues and driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical issues.
  • Collaborate with Site Operations to assess the impact of open deficiencies and define workarounds or Manual Operating Procedures (MOPs).
  • Hold General Contractors and vendors accountable to the commissioning schedule, documentation requirements, and technical design intent.
  • Communicate report status, successes, challenges, and plans of action to management and the broader team.
  • Train third-party personnel on Aligned Quality & Commissioning Programs.
  • Manage the use and requirements of commissioning platforms like Cx Alloy for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain a feedback loop to refine risk models, adapt strategies, and track lessons learned.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in commissioning readiness and test rigor.
  • Implement best practices that improve issue closeout velocity and repeatability of turnover outcomes.
  • Participate in cross-functional lessons learned and incorporate improvements into future project planning and execution.
  • Enforce the project’s QA/QC Policy and define passing installation standards.
  • Manage and provide direction for third-party Mechanical and Electrical QA Specialists.
  • Review field reports for quality, consistency, and risk, ensuring findings translate into clear corrective/preventive actions.
  • Identify systemic patterns in failures, quantify risk, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Act as a Level 3 to Level 4 Gatekeeper, validating readiness criteria and signing off on system completion.
  • Ensure all equipment and ancillary equipment is accessible and serviceable.
  • Assist/Participate in BMS related issue resolution.
  • Perform QA/QC and CX for speculative builds and tenant requirements.
  • Negotiate standard pricing with vendors.
  • Develop standardized reporting metrics for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct annual reviews of policies and procedures for version control.
  • Manage the organization and workflow of the ADC runbook.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
