About The Position
KLN Family Brands is a 3rd generation family-owned business that started in 1964. We are looking for a Quality & Regulatory Intern for the summer of 2027 who is serious about a career in food manufacturing, specifically within the confectionary industry. This internship offers the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and participate in the growth of fast-growing brands. As a Quality & Regulatory Intern, you will work closely with our operations, engineering, quality, and regulatory teams. You will gain experience in various aspects of quality and regulatory processes within the food manufacturing sector.
Requirements
- At least a Junior in college pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field
- The ability to dedicate 10-12 weeks to the internship program for the summer of 2027
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker
- The ability to work on-site at our Perham, MN facility for the summer
Responsibilities
- Provide support to production operations and address issues as they arise
- Develop an understanding of cross-functional and interdepartmental problem-solving
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues as needed
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams while ensuring product quality standards are maintained
- Develop POKA training content
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the quality process for new fruit extrusion products
