About The Position

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. Through industry -leading R&D and committed partnerships, we innovate the nutrition products and practices that unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life. The Quality Production Supervisor provides leadership for production, guidance, to hourly employees. This includes production, housekeeping, quality control and distribution to ensure safety, production, quality, and cost standards are met. Our QA practices are housed in our QMS (Quality Management System). Following these practices, you will be able to implement new policies as regulations change as well as maintain existing practices. You will also interact with the production staff, providing coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and other regulatory initiatives. You will also lead continuous improvement projects and also provide root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of increasing responsibility in feed/ food manufacturing production environment.
  • Solid organization skills and detail orientation skills
  • Capacity for consistently meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
  • Proven ability to coach, decision making, facilitates change, managing conflict; and ability to align performance with success.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements to include HACCP, GMP's.
  • Possess integrity in products, processes, and relationships.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal/training/coaching skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical problem solving/root cause analysis.
  • Ability to be insightful and act strategically and also tactically.
  • Computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates in the rotational Land O' Lakes programs (TAP/MMT/DMT) will be considered
  • Knowledge of FDA and other applicable regulatory agencies SOP's preferred
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance in feed, food or related fields of operation.
  • Advanced Safety training, HACCP training/certifications

  • Works closely with all members of management staff to ensure that the highest quality products meet scheduled commitments in a safe/efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.
