Quality & Production Assistant
About The Position

This role is crucial for maintaining product quality and supporting production efficiency. The Quality & Production Assistant will be responsible for daily testing, managing the quality management system, and ensuring smooth production operations. This position also involves technical expertise, customer complaint investigations, and training new employees, contributing to continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize priorities
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to work well with others and follow directions
- Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively on production and quality improvement recommendations
- Must have basic math comprehension and problem solving skills
- Good physical condition to support movement up 2-4 levels of operation (stairs, ladders, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve basic problems and find a safe effective solution
- Must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, quality procedures
- Introductory knowledge of basic planning or scheduling practices
- Intermediate computer skills including email, MS Office Suite/Google Suite, online applications including SAP
- Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet
- Physical ability to safely operate motorized vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, aerial manlift)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the work day
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Fork truck and man lift operation experience preferred
- Forklift certification a plus
Responsibilities
- Daily testing of finished product
- Oversight and development/improvement of quality management system per ISO 9001:2015
- Loading dry vans, filling pneumatic tankers
- Generate/complete production and quality data in SAP
- Understand production and quality processes to identify and correct any inefficiency
- Work as the technical expert for all production & quality related activities including training of new employees
- Offer suggestions for continuous process improvements
- Manage customer complaint investigations
- Provide training to personnel
- Maintains calibration of laboratory equipment
