About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Production Quality Engineer. This position will be located at our Jackson, MI facility. As a Production Quality Engineer assigned to the Coupling, Fabrication, or Hose value stream, you will work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing operation to ensure Eaton delivers high-performance, safety-critical products that meet the requirements of our customers and other interested parties. In this role, you will champion quality and utilize the tools of quality engineering to improve compliance, reduce quality risk, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in quality and/or operations/manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with quality management system standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) and quality core tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and PPAP).
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Experience partnering with a union represented workforce (e.g., UAW).
  • Proficiency in problem solving, process improvement, project management, auditing, data analysis, and ERP/business systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal forming, machining, molding, swaging, welding, heat treat, cleaning, coating, assembly, and test.
  • Ability to read technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Experience using inspection, measurement, and test equipment to verify product conformance
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with business systems including Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Travel may be required (up to 10%).

Responsibilities

  • Support the High-Performance Work Teams (HPWTs) and High-Five objectives (safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and people) by applying quality engineering practices and principles.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in quality standards, customer requirements, Eaton specifications, inspection techniques, inspection equipment, and special processes.
  • Work within the HPWT to investigate and disposition suspect/discrepant/nonconforming material in a timely manner.
  • Communicate quality issues to factory personnel, production supervisors, and the plant leadership team.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data to communicate performance and drive improvement in quality metrics.
  • Participate in cross-function problem-solving teams to systematically identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions for nonconformities resulting in customer escapes, internal rework, and scrap.
  • Understand and comply with quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform internal quality audits and support third-party and customer audits.
  • Support operations, customers, suppliers, and other functional teams as required.
  • Utilize Eaton Business System (EBS) tools as appropriate or required to improve quality management system effectiveness.
