About The Position

Biomerics is seeking a Quality Operator to assist in advancing quality objectives, ensuring parts are produced to customer specifications every time and on time, and continually improving the effectiveness of the quality management system. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player with exceptional analytical skills and a drive for continuous learning and growth within the company. Biomerics is a contract manufacturer specializing in challenging machined and micromachined components, including those for interventional and medical robotics applications, offering Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting, and five-axis milling.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Operator or Inspector in a machining or high-tech manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing microscopes for visual inspection is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing a wide range of measuring instruments; experience with CMM's, video measurement systems, comparators, height gages strongly preferred.
  • Must have GD&T knowledge.
  • Demonstrated research and documentation skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Detail orientation.
  • Background in promoting process improvement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with customers to troubleshoot issues and offer exceptional service.
  • Background in safety promotion and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Educational background in light industrial trades and/or in a post-secondary vocational program is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands blueprints and specifications.
  • Approves incoming, in-process, and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisors, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • May function as a point of contact to confer about issues as appropriate.
  • Utilizes microscope at 10-30X magnification to ensure high-quality products with no visual defects.
  • Utilizes measuring instruments such as video measurement systems, comparators, height gages, microscopes, CMM's, and handheld gauges and tools.
  • Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing rework and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
  • Supports the established QMS/QA processes and as needed working with internal resources to recommend a change to maintain high-quality processes.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
