About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is constructing an Advanced Casting Foundry (ACF) within its Asheville, NC factory. We’re looking for an experienced Quality Leader for this greenfield business. This position is for a leadership role in the quality organization responsible for the operation of the Quality team to achieve business goals. Drive culture of compliance through strong collaboration with Operations and Manufacturing teams. Lead the build out and proficiency development of the Quality team including Inspection, NDT, MRB, Gage Calibration, Metrology and MCL. Obtain the necessary resources (equipment, manpower, etc.) effectively to meet long range and near-term goals. Day to day operational decision making and oversee allocation of resources to meet customer demand. Lead Process Improvement opportunities using DMAIC, CORE and Lean Strategies to enhance quality, decrease process cycle time, and reduce operational costs. Provide technical expertise of non-conforming material and support the communication and processing of quality notifications through the Material Review Board (MRB) process. Collaborate with the operations and materials teams to ensure alignment to meet customer demand. Define and implement plans to support the objectives of the business including Quality, CORE, and financial metrics. Provide effective communication to ensure alignment within the quality operations team.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership & Management experience.
  • Knowledgeable / experienced in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems.
  • Working knowledge/ proficiency in Quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements, etc.
  • Experienced in root cause corrective action and eliminating non-conformances.
  • PW Quality system experience.
  • Practical DMAIC, CORE, Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience.
