About The Position

This role is responsible for structural and welding inspection and defect identification through VT, PT and MT methods to determine adherence to standards, specifications, and drawing requirements. Experience in Visual, Dye Penetrant, and Magnetic Particle inspections across all three methods is preferred. The position requires approaching assignments with a high ethical resolve, ensuring a reputable standing with onsite customers. The technician will implement NDT inspection methods in accordance with written procedures, conduct visual examinations using instruments and other measuring devices, and perform weld inspections using VT, PT, and MT methods. Additionally, they will conduct coating inspections, generate quality reports, complete inspection checklists, nonconformance documents, calibration reports, and other quality documents/records. Adherence to all safety requirements, departmental instructions, and company policies is mandatory. The role may also involve performing other duties assigned by management and willingness to work off shifts if needed.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education required
  • Must currently hold the following certifications: Level II ASNT in Visual Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing (VT, PT, and MT).
  • Must hold a current AMPP CIP Level 2 certification or an AWS CWI certification or have 3 years of UT flaw experience.
  • Must pass the required Eye exams for the NDT methods performed, as applicable.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/vocational training preferred
  • Experience in Visual, Dye Penetrant, and Magnetic Particle inspections across all three methods is preferred.
  • An AWS CWI certification is preferred and accepted as an alternative to VT Level II.

Responsibilities

  • Approach assignments with a high ethical resolve, ensuring reputable standing with our onsite customers.
  • Ability to implement NDT inspection methods in accordance with written procedures.
  • Visual examinations by means of instruments, gauges, jigs, templates, or other measuring devices to include nondestructive test methods to ensure adherence to standards, specifications, drawing, etc.
  • Conduct weld inspections using but not limited to VT, PT, and MT methods.
  • Conduct coating inspections in accordance with written procedures.
  • Generates Quality reports, completes Inspection Check Lists, nonconformance documents, calibration reports, and other Quality documents/records as applicable to the specific area assigned.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements, departmental instructions and TMLS Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs any and all other duties assigned by management.
  • Willingness to work an off shift if needed.
