Requirements

  • Apply fundamental ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO GPS principles to interpret, evaluate, and communicate dimensional and geometric requirements accurately.
  • Perform accurate measurements using manual inspection tools (dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, etc.) and assess measurement results for validity and repeatability.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, Creo, MBD) to design, interpret and collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Leverage understanding of manufacturing processes and common manufacturing defects to anticipate variability.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain inspection programs using CMM software platforms (e.g., DMIS, PC-DMIS, Calypso, Metrologic, Modus, Micro‑VU, GOM, Geomagic).
  • Love of clarity and simplicity in programs, design, documentation and reports

  • May support and apply Measurement System Analysis (MSA) concepts to ensure reliable and capable measurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of test methods and procedures needed to determine the dimensional features of products, validation and production inspections of all products produced from manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Apply fundamental ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO GPS principles to interpret, evaluate, and communicate dimensional and geometric requirements accurately.
