Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (any), Manufacturing, Quality Management or related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • In lieu of a Master’s degree and two years of experience, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Manufacturing, Quality Management or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality management systems (QMS) including ISO 9001.
  • Demonstrated experience in Process improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in BIW Flush and Gap measurement concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in Joining Technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in Surface Finish requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in Surface Finish Auditing.
  • Demonstrated experience in Body in White manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality control tools and techniques such as: SPC, FMEA, Control Plans or PPAP.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality auditing and standards (VDA or IATF).
  • Demonstrated experience in CAD software and measurement technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Responsibilities

  • Implement inspection and testing plans at various stages of production to identify defects and ensure compliance with BIW quality standards.
  • Implement and adhere to SOPs to maintain consistency and quality in production processes.
  • Use statistical data to monitor and control production processes.
  • Identify root causes of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, as well as preventive measures to avoid potential issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection results, test data, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems to ensure that all products meet customer expectations in the Body Shop.
  • Manage and guide quality control inspectors and technicians in performing routine inspections, testing, and audits of raw materials, in-process products, and finished accessory goods.
  • Analyze quality control data and generate reports to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving production processes, reducing defects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensure that all production processes comply with relevant quality standards, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with the technical quality internal customers to address customer complaints and quality issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Use data-driven analysis to drive decision-making and implement corrective actions.
