This position reports to the Operations Manager, then President and is responsible for overseeing all employees and activities in the quality and hold department. The Quality Manager will recommend and manage department Goals and Objectives that align with the Corporate Goals & Objectives. In addition, they will recommend department capital expenditures, labor and expense accounts, and work with the Executive Committee on long-term and short-term Goals and Objectives. This role requires knowledge to explain any details as needed during the review of Goals, Objectives, and expenditures. The Quality Manager provides leadership to the department staff and others throughout the company, giving direction, planning work, assigning tasks, assisting others, defining work, and determining techniques. They will establish a teamwork attitude and environment, working well with all departments, cooperating, listening, and helping others, showing support companywide. This role creates a positive work atmosphere, communicates effectively within and throughout the company, and uses collaboration to achieve the best results. They will exhibit excellent conduct through professionalism, respectfulness, efficient use of time, promptness, organizational skills, adherence to company policy, and representing the company positively. The Quality Manager assists in determining and executing adequate training programs for the department(s) responsible for and delivers training as needed. They create, implement, and maintain Technical Specification (TS) and/or International Organization for Standardization (ISO) processes, procedures, and forms for assigned areas, communicating these via training. The role involves serving and participating in committees, being cost-conscious in decisions regarding workforce, labor costs, material and supplies purchasing, and submitting suggestions for cost-saving ideas. The Quality Manager ensures optimal efficiency in all operations to maximize company profits, monitors projects for continual success, and takes corrective action as needed. They develop and support mechanisms to adhere to company operations metrics for safety, quality, delivery, performance, and involvement. This role gives direction and performs HR-related events such as wage and performance evaluations, recommends promotions, hiring, firing, and discipline, and may approve or make final decisions on these matters. They prepare and approve job descriptions for positions under their purview and make recommendations, assist in development, and adhere to company policies. The Quality Manager has a working knowledge of related job duties and equipment within the department, makes daily decisions for efficient workforce use, and sets achievable deadlines, including overtime and weekend scheduling. They possess the capabilities and willingness to make timely decisions regarding the department and assigned projects.
