About The Position

The Quality Manager supports and leads quality assurance and quality control activities for industrial rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. This role ensures that materials, installations, and processes comply with engineering specifications, utility requirements, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations. The Quality Manager works closely with construction, engineering, safety, commissioning, and Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and high-quality solar installations and operations. A strong Quality Manager is not just an inspector—they are a field leader, culture builder, risk manager, and coach who protects people, projects, and long-term system performance.

Requirements

  • Experience with conducting employee reviews based on identified goals.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of leadership in quality, construction, electrical, or solar roles
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality, construction, electrical, or solar roles
  • Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, UL, and local building codes
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile inspection tools
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Leads, coaches, and develops field quality team through on-site presence, real-time feedback, and consistent accountability.
  • Makes timely field decisions under pressure using inspection data, defect trends, and risk assessments to prevent rework and long-term asset issues.
  • Sets and enforces uncompromising safety and workmanship standards for commercial rooftop installations, ensuring compliance with codes, AHJs, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Builds a strong quality culture grounded in integrity, continuous improvement, and ownership of long-term system performance beyond project closeout.
  • Perform incoming inspections of solar materials including modules, racking systems, inverters, wire, conduit, and hardware
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of rooftop solar installations
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, electrical schematics, NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
  • Inspect rooftop penetrations, waterproofing, and structural attachments
  • Verify torque values on mechanical and electrical connections
  • Inspect grounding and bonding systems
  • Confirm correct labeling, signage, and safety markings
  • Maintain inspection checklists, installation records, and as-builts
  • Capture photographic evidence of installation quality
  • Support turnover packages for owners, utilities, and AHJs
  • Identify and document nonconforming work
  • Support corrective actions and verify close-out
  • Support internal, customer, utility, and AHJ inspections
  • Collaborate with construction, engineering, operations, safety, supply chain, and subcontractors
  • Provide real-time quality feedback and support training
