About The Position

Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a talented individual to join our Leadership Team! The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all glass products, processes, and systems meet required quality standards, comply with industry regulations, and align with customer expectations. This person will report to the Plant Manager and serve as a member of the Leadership Team. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who possesses the ability to relate to employees at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, and company reputation. The selected candidate will interface with all departments at our Fostoria, OH location.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of experience in manufacturing quality leadership role is required
  • Thorough understanding of AIAG standards
  • Tier 1, OE Automotive experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of APQP launch process
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949)
  • Proficiency with quality management tools such as root cause analysis, CAPA, statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience with data analysis, report generation, and using quality management software
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & other Continuous Improvement methods

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Business or a related field, preferred
  • Safety experience is a plus
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing Operating System is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for site Quality and is accountable to ensure all site Quality goals are met
  • Own and re-enforce the CGS cultural core elements: Safety First, Wow The Customer, Relationships Matter, Do The Right Thing, and Can-Do Attitude
  • Establish, improve, and maintain the site quality management system
  • Lead customer audits
  • Oversee document control (QA Manual, SOP’s, Guidelines and Customer Specifications)
  • Participate and lead First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Serve as primary contact for non-conforming material and timely resolution with customers
  • Work with local supply chain management to manage vendor performance through supplier scorecards, non-conforming material reports & corrective actions
  • Analyze plant monthly Quality metrics to ensure that the facility maintains a high standard of performance
  • Prepare site quality, customer and vendor performance data and present in Monthly Operations Reviews (MOR) to executive leadership
  • Prepare and execute corrective actions to improve performance, when necessary
  • Identify and execute improvement projects to improve Quality performance
  • Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles & methods that reduce inefficiencies, eliminate waste, and improve overall site performance
  • Support the implementation of the Custom Glass Solutions Manufacturing Operating System (MOS)
  • Work with the Quality functional councils to standardize Quality processes across sites & improve overall Quality performance
  • Participate in monthly communication / town hall meetings to engage all plant employees and maintain team alignment and clarity of organizational and business goals
  • Evaluate the performance of individual staff members and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Recruit and onboard new employees to improve staff capabilities and performance
  • Provide developmental and training opportunities that elevate staff performance
