About The Position

The Quality Manager will supervise and direct the work of the QA Project Engineers, QA Supervisors, and Quality Auditor staff. This role involves developing and implementing a quality program to ensure conformity of purchased materials and final products to strict quality standards while maintaining business volumes. The Quality Manager will also oversee containment processes for suspect product, manage sorting operations, and handle feedback and monetary claims related to such issues. Collaboration with the Product Engineering and Manufacturing departments is key for supporting current and new product launches and production operations. This position requires managing customer complaints and warranty claims, ensuring all testing requirements are met, and providing data metrics on rejections, PPMs, and improvement plans to management. Performance management, including evaluations and corrective actions, is also a responsibility, along with ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, and regulatory/customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Field, or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Quality Field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc...
  • Capable of using basic measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc...
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the work of the QA Project Engineers, QA Supervisors, and Quality Auditor staff.
  • Develop and implement a quality program which insures conformity of purchased material and final product s to strict quality standards, while maintaining business volumes to the customer.
  • Meet with quality representatives to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Oversee the containment process of suspect product and manage the sorting operations.
  • Manage the feedback for suspect product and any monetary claims associated with these issues.
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering department in support of current and new product launch.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Department personnel in support of production operations.
  • Follow-up on customer complaints and warranty claims.
  • Review and ensure that all testing requirements have been met.
  • Manage and Maintain Production and Customer Volume Requirements.
  • Provide data metrics to company QA and plant management regarding rejection, Parts Per Millions (PPMs) 5Ps, and improvement plans.
  • Manage and maintain production and customer volume requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing performance management including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases and necessary corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements.
