About The Position

The Quality Manager will be responsible for the daily supervision of activities within the Quality department across PA facilities. This includes mentoring, training, and managing the workload of direct reports. The role involves providing overall direction for department-level objectives and managing communications within the department and with other departments. A key aspect of this position is collaborating with other departments to prevent and resolve customer complaints and internally discovered issues by applying effective root cause analysis and corrective action techniques. The Quality Manager will monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventive actions, lead and/or participate in Quality improvement projects, and conduct internal audits. This role also focuses on lowering organizational risk by identifying improvement opportunities, initiating improvement projects, implementing preventative measures through new technology or tooling, and recommending design/specification changes to improve manufacturability. Ensuring all documentation and records are managed according to internal, external, and regulatory requirements, reviewing documentation changes, and ensuring readiness for audits are also critical responsibilities. The Quality Manager will effectively communicate and reinforce Havis’ commitment to Quality, participate in quality reporting, maintain calibration of tools, and participate in supplier audits as needed. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining PPAP and other customer-required quality documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a Quality Supervisor role or related position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills in performing root cause analysis, investigation, and proposal of solutions
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record keeping skills
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate professionally both inside and outside of the company by email and phone, working across all levels of the organization
  • Strong team player, comfortable working with design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, marketing, planning, and others as appropriate on a daily basis
  • Corrected 20/20 vision
  • Familiarity with calipers, gauges, and related inspection equipment
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting and standing
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs.

  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred

  • Effectively communicate and reinforce Havis’ commitment to Quality
  • Participate in and/or lead quality reporting activities
  • Works with corporate quality to maintain calibration of tools for their locations
  • Participate in supplier audits as needed
  • Create and maintain PPAP and other customer-required quality documents (FMEA, Control plan, Process flow diagrams, etc.) to meet customer requirements
