About The Position

Balanced Body is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and consolidate their quality functions. This role involves owning quality across the entire production flow, from supplier to customer, and establishing a disciplined, criteria-driven quality system. The Quality Manager will act as the voice of the customer within the factory, ensuring products meet customer expectations beyond just matching drawings. This is a unique opportunity to build a quality system from the ground up in a company that has been a leader in Pilates equipment manufacturing since 1976.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive quality experience in discrete manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Hands-on ownership of a QMS (QT9 or equivalent), including CAPA, NCP, MRB, and audit management.
  • Real supplier quality experience: FAI, PPAP or equivalent, supplier audits, and corrective action follow-through.
  • Direct customer-facing experience: complaint resolution, 8D reporting, and managing customer commitments.
  • Ability to write acceptance criteria suitable for a high-mix, craftsmanship-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in building metrics and dashboards in Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer-facing quality, including complaints, field failures, and warranty claims, managing 8D reports and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement standards and decisions by authoring written acceptance criteria for all part families and chairing the Material Review Board.
  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) using QT9, focusing on CAPA pipeline, non-conforming product trends, and audit readiness.
  • Build dashboards for leadership, tracking key metrics such as cost of poor quality and first-pass yield.
  • Manage supplier quality, establishing end-to-end processes from supplier agreements to incoming inspection and implementing structured improvement programs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including inspectors, technicians, and supplier quality engineers, providing standards and coaching.
  • Develop quality plans for new product launches, qualify new manufacturing sources (including international operations), and ensure quality transitions during facility moves.
