On any given day, you’ll make a difference by coordinating and balancing department priorities with the various departments at plant locations, overseeing ongoing training of all department employees and ensuring team members are sufficiently cross-trained, and providing support as needed for all manufacturing engineers, machine operators, supervisors, planners, etc. You will also perform audits around the plant, create work requests as needed to address department equipment issues, and work with outside vendors to maintain calibration/service contracts for equipment. Additionally, you will consider new technologies for manufacturing and decide if new inspection equipment is needed, understand what each role does in the quality department to fill in when needed, and write work instructions for new equipment as needed. You will also be responsible for collecting data and providing analyses, taking part in vendor visits for qualification and capability assessment of suppliers and for vendors to discuss Quality requirements, and leading project management initiatives and bringing plant managers together to prepare for important issue reviews.
