About The Position

Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager to support their Work Furniture business. Leggett & Platt is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of office furniture components and mechanisms. The Work Furniture business produces task and finished components, as well as select lines of private label finished seating. This role will provide leadership in Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement by ensuring the company meets or exceeds customer requirements through the development, improvement, and maintenance of a consistent methodology for compliance and continuous improvement. The team is collaborative and innovative, valuing challenging work and diversity of thought.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of quality leadership in manufacturing
• Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and QMS compliance
• Comfortable with hands-on work and production-floor collaboration
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and use measurement tools
• Able to make required measurements using various measuring and test equipment
• Some travel required

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of quality processes through observations and measurements, and by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
• Be responsible for safety/environmental issues involving quality.
• Partner with management to implement continuous improvement projects; assist with Lean Projects.
• Support the analysis and resolution of customer complaints, ensuring actions meet customer expectations, are effectively implemented in operational processes, and drive prevention.
• Collaborate with production to ensure quality control requirements are effectively and consistently executed.
• Develop and improve process control plans, work instructions, and production standards.
• Foster a Zero-Defect quality culture and drive quality assurance and prevention into operational processes.
• Partner with the NPD team to ensure prototypes and PPAP parts meet customer requirements.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to support production and customer needs.
