About The Position

CRP Industries is seeking a Quality Manager with at least 2 years of experience as a quality auditor or in a closely related role, preferably within a distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vendors on quality issues and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn. This role is crucial for the Quality Team and will be based in the Ann Arbor office, reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager. CRP Industries is a 70-year-old, family/veteran-owned business and a leading North American supplier to the automotive and industrial service markets, known for brands like REIN Automotive, AAE steering products, Pentosin technical fluids, AJUSA engine parts, Reinflex hose, and Perske motors. The company operates distribution centers across North America and prides itself on Quality, Service, and Trust. The purpose of this position is to support and manage quality processes at CRP Industries' Cranbury NJ facility, ensuring adherence to quality standards, meeting customer expectations, and driving continual improvement in compliance with QMS standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years experience as a quality auditor for ISO 9001 (preferred) and/or IATF 16949 or relevant work experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Import/Distribution industry experience required

Responsibilities

  • Help define the structure, responsibilities, procedures, and processes for implementing and coordinating the Quality Management System (QMS) to comply with QMS standards (Primarily ISO 9001, experience with IATF 16949 preferable).
  • Provide input into systematic activities to ensure products meet the requirements of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards.
  • Implement techniques and perform activities focused on controlling processes and materials to fulfill quality requirements.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and drive activities to improve supplier quality, managing supplier return systems as necessary.
  • Utilize 8-step problem-solving approaches (e.g., A3, 8D) to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Develop a process analysis approach to support risk management, utilizing FMEA and control plans for work instructions.
  • Ensure measuring devices produce accurate and repeatable results through timely calibration and traceability.
  • Develop, support, and verify test and inspection activities align with QMS requirements.
  • Provide training on quality-related topics to production employees and potentially suppliers.
  • Support the Quality team in managing the internal audit system, conducting internal audits, second-party audits on suppliers, and third-party audits.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance product quality, prioritizing based on KPI conditions to improve customer satisfaction, lower costs, and increase process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor warranty return data, use problem-solving methods to determine root causes, and implement countermeasures.
  • Work with external parties to address quality concerns and enhance performance, communicating according to CRP's values.
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality KPIs and reporting to ensure awareness of quality performance throughout the organization.
