About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Product & Services Quality Manager (Level K) for 2nd shift to develop and administer the quality system that ensures and manages the integrity of company products and services. This manager will report to the 787 Supplier Quality Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina. The successful candidate will lead inspection teams supporting the business needs for Supplier Product Assurance operations. This role will collaborate across shifts and programs, working in a matrix organization within Supplier Quality in addition to working with Supply Chain, Charleston, and Fabrication programs to ensure quality of externally purchased product to be incorporated into production. This position requires knowledge of Quality and Supplier Quality requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing in cross-functional teams in fast paced product development environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100))
  • 5+ years of experience inspecting aircraft/aerospace parts, components, and/or assemblies for conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing plans
  • Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services, and processes align with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations
  • Develops and carries out business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System
  • May make airworthiness determinations on behalf of the company and regulatory agencies
  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, partners, peers, suppliers, and direct reports
