About The Position

The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing the quality department's processes and employees in the US, motivating them to ensure an environment that supports high quality and efficiency. This role involves establishing and managing a comprehensive quality organization and systems, including incoming, process, outgoing, and supplier inspections. The manager will implement and maintain ISO 9001 at manufacturing, warehouse facilities, and distribution centers in the USA, ensuring continuous approval according to established standards and regulations. They will also ensure that national and international subcontractors meet the company's quality requirements, develop new quality objectives, and set up systems to support these goals. Key responsibilities include managing complaint processing, implementing CAPA, DR systems, and 8D reports, and establishing a TESTLAB/Facility to ensure tests are performed and documented according to specifications, aligning with the company's other TEST facilities. The Quality Manager is accountable for the quality section's budget, approving purchases within limits, and participating in inter-organizational tasks and the company's management team to influence future development. The role also includes management of the quality section's employees, including recruitment, development, training, and dismissal in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX systems extremely beneficial); above average skills in Excel
  • Understanding of ISO 9000, 5S, and TQM
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma)
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written. Able to communicate the “how to” and “why” of quality to employees in a way that is understandable and actionable.
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Proven experience in and deep knowledge of quality assurance principles and processes.
  • Able to “walk the talk” and use a hands-on approach to quality assurance. Must be willing to roll up sleeves and personally do the work to investigate, enhance, and promote quality.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • The utmost professionalism is to be displayed in all communications, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, margin and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Systems (ERP).
  • Above average user with Microsoft Word and Excel, including formatting, developing charts and graphs, and manipulating data with formulas.
  • Must be able to develop presentations in PowerPoint, and familiar with the email and calendar functions of Outlook.
  • Understanding of dashboarding software (e.g. Domo or other data management platforms).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must have well-developed systematic and structured critical thinking abilities to be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Able to apply general rules to specific problems and produce an answer that makes sense (deductive reasoning).
  • Able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (inductive reasoning).
  • Must have above average attention to detail.
  • Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the company's national as well as international subcontractor, meets the company's quality requirements.
  • Develops new quality objectives and effectively set up systems to support achieving these initiatives and goals.
  • Manages complaint processing, including responsibility for implementing CAPA system, DR system and 8D reports.
  • Establish and manage a TESTLAB/Facility to ensure that tests are performed and documented according to specifications.
  • Is responsible and accountable for the budget for quality section.
  • Approves purchases within the limits of budget, approval limits and disposal rules.
  • Participates in inter-organizational tasks, such as strategic actions, quality focus group meetings, complaint work, etc.
  • Participate in the company's management team and through it actively affect the company's future development.
  • Performs these and other duties as applicable and assigned.
