About The Position

Balanced Body is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and consolidate quality functions across the entire production flow, from supplier to customer. This role involves establishing a disciplined, criteria-driven quality system, acting as the voice of the customer within the factory, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. The Quality Manager will own customer-facing quality, develop standards and acceptance criteria, manage the Quality Management System (QMS), oversee supplier quality, lead cross-functional teams, and contribute to growth initiatives like new product launches and facility moves.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive quality experience in discrete manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a quality team.
  • Hands-on ownership of a QMS (QT9 or equivalent), including CAPA, NCP, MRB, and audit management.
  • Experience with supplier quality, including FAI, PPAP or equivalent, supplier audits, and corrective action follow-through.
  • Direct customer-facing experience, including complaint resolution, 8D reporting, and managing customer commitments.
  • Ability to write acceptance criteria suitable for a high-mix, craftsmanship-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in building metrics and dashboards in Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer-facing quality, including complaints, field failures, and warranty claims, driving 8D reports and corrective actions.
  • Develop and author written acceptance criteria for all part families.
  • Chair the Material Review Board (MRB) to ensure clear and consistent quality standards.
  • Drive the QT9 QMS as a living system, managing CAPA, non-conforming product trends, and audit readiness.
  • Build and maintain leadership dashboards for key quality metrics such as cost of poor quality and first-pass yield.
  • Establish and manage an end-to-end supplier quality process, including supplier quality agreements, first article inspection, and corrective action follow-through.
  • Implement structured improvement programs for key suppliers.
  • Lead weekly quality/supply cadences with the Supply Chain team.
  • Coach and guide a team of inspectors, technicians, and supplier quality engineers.
  • Develop quality plans for new product launches.
  • Qualify new manufacturing sources, including international operations.
  • Ensure a seamless quality transition during facility moves.
