About The Position

The Quality Manager is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) under the direction of corporate management. This role involves collaborating with corporate quality leadership to build and analyze opportunities for improvement within the QMS, conducting management reviews, and ensuring the suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness of the system. The position also oversees document control, record management, and the establishment and review of quality objectives. Additionally, the Quality Manager is responsible for staff training on QMS requirements, supplier management, customer satisfaction assessments, and internal audit programs. This role ensures corrective actions are taken for non-conforming products or processes, coordinates continual improvements, and manages customer and system certification audits. The Quality Manager also oversees the quality budget, manages the quality team, ensures plant calibration systems are current, and prepares customer-required documents. Support for the ERP system, supplier activities, and risk/interested party reviews are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • GD&T and Gaging fundamentals
  • English. Fluent and well-spoken with excellent technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain and improve QMS under the direction of corporate management.
  • Build and continuously analyze opportunities for improvement of the quality management system appropriate for each plant, and its products.
  • Planning and conducting periodic management reviews in accordance with QMS.
  • Responsible for periodic review and modification of the company quality management system documents.
  • Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide objective Quality evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records.
  • Ensure that Quality Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QMS and that these are regularly reviewed and understood by EFG employees.
  • Ensure that all new staff are introduced to the requirements of the QMS which are related to their own roles and responsibilities. Provide update training as necessary.
  • Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and reevaluated and that records of this assessment are maintained.
  • Ensure that top management undertakes periodic but regular assessments of customer satisfaction and that appropriate improvements are identified and implemented.
  • Ensure that an internal audit program which complies with industry/regulatory requirements is adopted so as to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, and is effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken when nonconforming products or processes are identified.
  • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective/ preventive actions/are recorded and reviewed.
  • Responsible for tactical and strategic goals pertaining to the continual improvement of the plant, quality and customer focus.
  • Manage customer audits.
  • Manage system certification and registrar audits.
  • Responsible for the quality budget pertaining to the respective facility to include, staffing, equipment/tools, and over time.
  • Supervisory duties including training and developing career paths for Quality team members.
  • Ensure plant calibration system is kept current and audited for compliance.
  • Preparation, or oversight thereof, of customer required documents such as PPAPs, 8D CAPA, IMDS submittals, and certificate of compliance forms.
  • Customer follow ups on submissions to ensure satisfaction/approval.
  • Preparation of, internal to EFG, reports such as those detailing COPQ, returns, scrap, or plans for corrective action.
  • Support use of, and training on, ERP system.
  • Participate in Supplier approval, evaluation, monitoring, and Corrective Action activities.
  • Conduct risk and interested party review analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
