About The Position

SOCOTEC’s Environment and Safety team provides expert environmental, health and safety consultancy and compliance services that help organisations manage risk, protect people and safeguard the environment. Our services include environmental monitoring and consultancy, water safety and hygiene solutions with Legionella risk assessments and water system management, fire safety consultancy and inspections, occupational hygiene assessments and workplace exposure monitoring, and specialist advisory support on regulatory and sustainability challenges. We use industry-leading tools and science-based approaches to deliver accurate data, practical guidance and innovative solutions that ensure compliance with UK legislation, minimise environmental impact and create healthier, safer workplaces for clients. We are recruiting for a Quality Manager – Environmental to support quality management and assurance across designated business areas. You will work closely with operational sites to maintain relevant accreditations, provide expert environmental and quality guidance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Requirements

  • Internal auditor qualification to ISO17025
  • Degree in a Science based subject
  • Audit experience / training

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the Management Systems to support ISO 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 is established, implemented, and maintained within your allocated business area
  • Audit scheduling, planning.
  • Undertaking management system audits, technical audits & assessments
  • Primary liaison with UKAS, coordinating communications and supporting accreditation activities.
  • Management of quality control, anomalies and complaints, helping to ensure all non-conformances raised are resolved in a timely manner, in conjunction with appropriate Business Unit representatives.
  • Organised and facilitated Management Review Meetings (MRM), including preparation of reports, action tracking, and follow-up activities.
  • Lead and participate in monthly Quality Assurance (QA) meetings, providing updates on compliance, quality performance, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Manage document control processes, ensuring quality documentation, procedures, and records were accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Conducted vertical audits to assess compliance, process effectiveness, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and review vertical audit records, ensuring QA findings are appropriately closed out and corrective actions completed.
  • Manage complaints and issues logs, overseeing QA review processes and ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and close-out of actions.
  • Deliver QA systems training to employees, supporting understanding of quality processes, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and analyse customer feedback surveys to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support impartiality reviews and surveys to ensure compliance with accreditation and governance requirements.
  • Review validations and QC charts to monitor quality performance, identify trends, and ensure compliance with operational standards
