About The Position

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Quality Management Coordinator (Contract). In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that project QA/QC deliverables comply with TM’s quality management requirements, project specifications, and applicable regulatory standards. The position works closely with project management teams and cross-functional stakeholders to embed quality expectations throughout project planning, execution, oversight, audits, surveillance, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including exposure in an oil and gas operator environment and/or construction and fabrication QA/QC activities.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical education and practical experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of CSA Z662 Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems, CER Onshore Pipeline Regulations (OPR), ISO 9001, and API Q1.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to support project QA/QC frameworks and positive capital project outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related collaboration tools, including SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in time-constrained, execution-driven environments
  • A track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and influence colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Post secondary degree in engineering or business management, PMP designation, or Lead Quality Auditor certification will be considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

  • Support major capital projects by developing Project Quality Management Plans (PQMPs) aligned with TM standards, project requirements, and specifications.
  • Support project teams in planning and implementing TM’s quality requirements across engineering, materials, equipment, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Review contractors’ and vendors’ QA/QC procedures during bid evaluations and project execution to ensure alignment with TM standards and requirements.
  • Confirm that contractor Project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are reviewed and accepted.
  • Provide input on contract documents, specifications, procedures, and related documents, and ensure identified gaps are addressed.
  • Deliver training for TM stakeholders, project personnel, and GCC/EPC teams on TM quality standards and procedures during project kickoffs and throughout project execution.
  • Ensure TM project teams are equipped with appropriate QA tools and processes to support effective project execution.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in TM standards and specifications and support updates and integration of lessons learned.
  • Participate in Project Gate Reviews, as required, either as a reviewer or as a member of the project team.
  • Ensure conformance to project requirements through GCC/EPC site audits and reviews of records and processes across material suppliers, fabricators, construction contractors, and service providers.
  • Work closely with project teams (training, guidance, interpretation of standards) in implementing TM’s quality expectations during the lifecycle of projects - engineering, materials, equipment, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Assess contractors’ quality provisions, including inspector competency, QA/QC practices, and overall quality management program effectiveness.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update a register of construction package deliverables by location and contractor.
  • Manage non-conformances and corrective actions, as required, to maintain project QA/QC compliance and drive systemic process improvements.
