About The Position

The quality line auditor is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards before they are released to the customer. This is a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. The role requires specific vision abilities, the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and bend, stoop, crawl, and climb stairs. Overtime, including weekends, may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively within all levels of the organization in English
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagram instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Perform quality process inspections at the gauging station at required intervals following written instructions per the customers' requirements.
• Identifies and reports any quality issues or defects to production supervisors and management, stopping the line for quality issues requiring immediate attention.
• Pulls samples for FARO inspection.
• Inspects parts at the gauging station for specified dimensions and checks for bow, camber, twist, and flair.
• Watch parts at the line for physical defects such as scratches, burrs, cutoff length, etc.
• Communicate with the machine operator when adjustments are needed.
• Communicate with appropriate line personnel when parts need to be held for Quality Review at various machine events: Line stops for adjustments, Line feeder faults, Adjustment to the cutoff press, Adjustment for camber or bow, Coil changes.
• Review parts held in Quality Review to determine if they are acceptable or require escalation to the Quality Manager.
• Acts as backup for the Packers during breaks or to cover absenteeism.
• Ensure that packing supplies are at the packing station.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant.
