About The Position

The Quality Level 2 Coatings Inspector uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical units. This role involves inspecting for structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. The inspector will utilize various measuring devices, and will be responsible for accepting, rejecting, or reworking defective or malfunctioning units or systems. Work is performed from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists. The role may also involve monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures, and performing line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 1 year of related experience
  • May require certification
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Able to read a blueprint

Nice To Haves

  • Current NBPI or NACE 1 qualification
  • Ability to inspect confined spaces, inspect at extreme heights, stooping, crawling, bending, climbing ladders and stairs when required.
