Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have the ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in the work environment and manages competing demands.
  • Well organized, dependable, punctual, strong work ethic with exceptional integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting and comfortable working with letters and numbers.
  • Able to work flexible hours and available for overtime should a need arise.

  • Experience in plastics or packaging industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, primarily but not limited to classroom training, to designated new hires to ensure they have the tools to successfully perform the functions of the role.
  • Onboarding and training includes, but not limited to reviewing all required Quality documents, giving new hires a tour of the Plant, and training in GMP, reading a work order and pack sheet, QDF, making, storing, sealing and stacking boxes, packing techniques, labeling, basic defect recognition, and safety.
  • Facilitate Pre-shift QA Inspector meetings to discuss any quality alerts that results from the previous shift.
  • Periodic quality checks for defect detection during the production run.
  • Effectively perform all duties of a QA Inspector and train new QA Inspectors when hired.
  • Effectively serve as backup for the Quality Technician where duties can include, but are not limited to production floor documentation preparation, product release, CoC and CoA creation, batch file review and maintenance, etc.
  • Help the Quality Manager document, inspect, and disposition all inventory that is put on hold.
  • Assist with product rework under the direction of the Quality Manager.
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that line products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards in addition to quality standards.
  • Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and ensure all are followed and documented correctly at all times.
  • Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality.
