About The Position
The Quality Lab Technician performs incoming raw material testing and in-process testing for the manufacturing operation of Malarkey Roofing Products under supervision, ensuring that materials meet quality standards.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities
- Audits manufacturing processes.
- Performs chemical and physical property tests under supervision, including: Asphalt – Softening point, penetration, flash point, viscosity, basic DSR, filler %. Product – back coating, granular adhesion, tears, seal thickness, shingle color, shingle dissection, copper content. Granule/Sand – Gradation analysis, copper content.
- Inspects finished products and partners with manufacturing to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
- Performs data entry on multiple platforms (SQC, Access, Excel).
