About The Position

This position is responsible for the accuracy of sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing production results. The role also involves supervising the daily activities of the Lab Techs, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promoting the quality system. The technician will provide post-project summaries, oversee lab personnel and functions, mentor and train other Lab Techs, assign projects, and provide weekly and monthly reports on test results. They will interpret test results, act as a leader in the Quality Manager's absence, and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
  • Met the competency requirements for a Lab Tech I – III (internally) or a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Quality Lab in a production environment.
  • Effectively plans and organizes work to get efficient and effective results.
  • Leads in the achievement of team obligations.
  • Requires working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferably in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP system experience preferred.
  • B.S. in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the daily activities of the Lab Techs.
  • Ensuring task assignments and work instructions are completed accurately.
  • Seeking ways to improve efficiency and update work instructions.
  • Promoting health, safety, and environmental regulations by ensuring standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to.
  • Promoting the quality system through adherence to business policy, goals, quality manual, and procedures.
  • Providing post-project summaries to the Quality Manager and Plant Manager.
  • Overseeing lab personnel and functions relating to the execution of lab tests.
  • Mentoring and training other Lab Techs.
  • Assigning projects and expectations to Lab Techs.
  • Providing weekly and monthly reports, summarizing test results and explaining deviations.
  • Ensuring routine tasks are performed accurately and strict methodologies are followed.
  • Ensuring proper preparation of specimens and samples.
  • Interpreting test results and relaying them to management.
  • Acting as a leader in place of the Quality Manager when unavailable.
  • Performing other duties as required.
