About The Position

The Quality Lab Technician supports the Analytical Chemist and Chemist in sample preparation for analysis, and assists with standard-making and instrumentation. This role is crucial for the safe operation of the Analytical Lab and the improvement of the plant safety culture, ensuring timely, accurate, and precise chemical analysis.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 1-3 years’ experience working in a lab environment
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic
• Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Monitoring

• Ability to pay close attention to detail

• Associate’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist chemist in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials.
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as grinding, cleaning of glasswork, and sample preparation.
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
• Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Documenting/Recording Information
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
