About The Position

Marzetti is seeking a Quality Intern to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program! Still in school but ready to start building your career? Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with a focus in: Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to spend time in a food manufacturing environment and on the production floor
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately collect, organize, and interpret data.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Action-oriented with sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution
  • Works effectively both independently and in team settings

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, or quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support food safety and quality improvement projects through various phases of project execution.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quality and production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support foreign material prevention initiatives by evaluating potential sources, behaviors, controls, and verification activities.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including production floor observations, inspections, audits, and verification activities.
  • Support sanitation improvement initiatives, including Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) reviews, development of visual cleaning standards, and SSOP development or updates.
  • Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions related to food safety and quality concerns.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other plant teams to identify and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Manage assigned project activities and effectively communicate progress, findings, and recommendations.
  • Support compliance with plant food safety, quality, GMP, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
