About The Position

In the Quality Intern role, you will support the Supplier Quality team by reviewing engineering drawings across multiple product models and identifying inconsistencies in dimensions, specifications, notes, and material requirements. You will gain practical experience with quality improvement, drawing standardization, and the impact accurate documentation has on production, cost, and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Interest in supplier quality, manufacturing, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read or develop proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions, specifications, notes, and material requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present findings.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings across multiple product models for accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify discrepancies in dimensions, specifications, notes, and material requirements.
  • Document findings in an organized drawing-discrepancy log.
  • Assist with preparing, submitting, and tracking Quality Improvement Requests (QIRs).
  • Compile supporting documentation for identified drawing and process-related issues.
  • Support initiatives to improve drawing standardization and prevent recurring quality concerns.
  • Analyze how documentation inconsistencies may contribute to quality issues, production delays, and increased costs.
  • Prepare a summary report of findings, recommendations, and potential improvements.
  • Deliver a final presentation outlining key improvements and their anticipated business impact.
  • Complete other quality-related projects and duties based on business needs.
